A COVID-19 positive woman delivered healthy twin girls at the Government Maternal and Child Health (MCH) hospital in Jammu’s Gandhi Nagar.

According to sources, the babies were born via caesarean section (C-Section).


A team of doctors from Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital and Government Medical College, Jammu, performed the surgery with the help of technicians from MCH hospital.
The doctors who carried out the surgery include Dr Huma, Dr Megha, Dr Monika Zutshi and Dr Kartik.


The Medical Superintendent of the MCH hospital, Dr Arun Sharma, said the babies were in good health.
“Post the surgery, the mother and the twin babies are doing fine. The babies have tested negative for COVID-19. We have kept the babies separated from their mother, who is COVID positive,” Sharma said.


The Government Maternal and Child Health hospital has treated over 700 COVID-19 patients to date. The hospital served as a COVID hospital since 2020.
