Meghalaya | Juvenile, accused of raping 7-yr-old girl, surrenders

Three days after the crime was committed, the 17 years old teen, accused of raping a 7 years old girl in Garo Hills, surrendered before the police in Phulbari in West Garo Hills here on Tuesday.

The 17 year old had allegedly carried the girl to his house after smothering her to prevent her from shouting and raped her, allegedly when there were other members in the house. The incident occurred the past Saturday in the village of Kaimbatapara – II under Phulbari PS.

The police had been on the lookout for the teen after a report was filed.

Confirming the surrender, the superintendent of police, WGH, Dr MGR Kumar said, "He has surrendered today at Phulbari and we are investigating the matter."
