A new challenge that recently went viral and one which is prompting people around the world to clean up their nearby green areas and post before/after photos has made inroads in Shillong too.

To spread the message of "Keeping Shillong clean and green", a team of Avenues Life Coaches and students from the first batch of their Summer Workshops for class 10 and class 12 students took the #trashtag challenge.
The location was Golflink, Shillong, a place of scenic beauty but one that bears the brunt of public apathy every single day!
Though it was quite unpleasant to witness the disarray of such a scenic place initially, thanks to the motivated team of Avenues, they took up the challenge to clean the place and were overwhelmed with the difference!
But the question remains: Will this act awaken the conscience of common people? Or will they continue to shamelessly litter the place and leave it for others to clean up after them?
Only time will tell!
