FIFA World Cup 2022 to take place in Qatar from November to December

TNT News | CAPE TOWN, July 14, 2018

The 2022 edition of the FIFA World Cup is set to take place in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December.

The announcement was made by FIFA president Gianni Infantino on Friday.

This is a massive decision as it will affect the European football season. Sources stated that Qatar's summer is considered too much of a risk for players to play in.

The shift has come with an array of criticism, specifically from European clubs.

Infantino has also considered adding 16 more teams to the 2022 tournament. This plan proves complicated for Qatar since it is building only eight stadiums.

This will prompt Qatar to share the matches with the Middle East region to help ease tensions.
