Assam: Two women arrested with heroin at Jalukbari

GUWAHATI, July 11, 2018: In an operation led by the Jalukbari police, two women were arrested with substantial amount of brown sugar on Tuesday

Acting on information the police held the duo near Katia Bridge in Jalukbari.

The arrested have been identified as Sahira Begum and Hasina Begum.

The police recovered 20 small containers filled with brown sugar. The police said that the duo has been running the drugs business for some time now.

The Crime Branch, Narcotics Control Bureau, Excise Department and Railway Protection Force have been launching joint operations against the drugs business across the city and have been successful in nabbing the couriers and dealers.

In a similar case, a woman, on Monday with drugs courier was arrested by the Bharalumukh police near Bhootnath.
