Assam: Two boys jump off Saraighat Bridge fearing police

GUWAHATI, June 7, 2018: Fearing police checking, two youths who were riding towards Saraighat Bridge in a two-wheeler jumped off from Saraighat Bridge on Wednesday.

The two youths have been identified as Raju Ujir and Bikash, riding a scooty bearing the registration number AS 01 DK6460.

It was reported that on seeing police officials, the duo threw their scooter and jumped off the bridge, out of fear of being scrutinized.

Raju Ujir was rescued by the fire brigade team and is currently undergoing treatment as he was found badly injured while Bikash is absconding.

The Police are suspecting the scooter to be a stolen vehicle.
