Assam lynching case | We won’t spare any culprit: Sarbananda Sonowal

TNT News | Guwahati, June 10, 2018:
Amid the heartbreaks and anguish among the people of Assam over the brutal lynching of two Guwahati youths by an irate mob in Karbi Anglong on Friday night, the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has requested the people to maintain peace and social harmony and not to fall prey to rumours.
In his tweet, Sonowal expressed his determination to hunt the culprits and award strictest of punishment to them.
"We won't spare anyone and strictest of punishment will be given to the culprits," he tweeted.

Nilotpal Das and Abhijeet Nath were brutally killed by a mob near Kathilangso waterfall who mistook them to be child abductors.
So far, the Assam Police have arrested 16 people in connection with this case and they were on the lookout for more people.
Condemnation poured in from different parts of Assam and beyond.

Assam Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted "I am distressed at an unfortunate incident in which 2 young men Abhijeet Nath & Nilotpal Das were killed after they were mistaken as kidnappers. The spiralling cases of rumours through social media & @WhatsApp pose a threat to society & we all must get vigilant to curb it.

Similarly, former chief minister and Congress leader Tarun Gogoi has expressed his sadness over the incident and demanded the government to take stringent actions against the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
