Assam lynching case: Main accused arrested

GUWAHATI, June 13, 2018: Assam Police have arrested one of the main accused in the Karbi Anglong mob lynching incident on late Tuesday night.

Alphajoz Timung who was on the run after fuelling the mob to attack the two youths from Guwahati on June 8 was arrested by police.

The accused has been arrested from Bheloghat Beygaon under Dokmoka Police Station in Karbi Anglong.

As per reports, it was Timung who alarmed and mislead the locals of Panjuri village about the Guwahati boys to be Child lifters and asked them to stop the 'black car'.

Timung, according to the sources was also allegedly involved in killing of one Mithu Das in Dengaon, Karbi Anglong.
