Assam: Five women drug peddlers held with ganja at Railway Station

GUWAHATI, July 24, 2018: In a joint operation, Assam police along with Railway Police Force (RPF) arrested five women, who were carrying ganja via train (Chandigarh Express) from Guwahati Railway Station on 23rd July.

The women have been identified as Mahira Bewa, Mafruza Bewa, Sagar Banu Bewa, Ajama Khatun and Mumtaj Bibi.

A total of 20 kilograms of Ganja were recovered from the possession of these women.

During the preliminary inquiry, it came to light that the apprehended were carrying the cannabis from Dimapur and were expected to deliver in Malda.

Following the matter, GRP has registered a case No. 203/18 U/S 20(B) under the NDPS Act.
