Assam: Dead body of a trader recovered from safety tank, three held in Chirang

The deceased identified as Zulfikar Ali (55), owner of a tyre shop and a resident of Vivekananda Palli.
After Ali went missing, some unidentified men had called his family, seeking Rs 15 lakh ransom.
The police registered a case under Section 364A (kidnapping for ransom) of the IPC at Bongaigaon police station and launched a manhunt for the abductors after Ali's son, Bablu, 19, lodged a missing person's report at North Bongaigaon police patrol post on July 18.
But the police could not draw any lead about Ali from her.
The police then arrested Supram Basumatary, 24, from Laokriguri and Ajay Daimari, 22, from Formaishali in Bijni in Chirang district on Saturday. The duo then showed the police the safety tank where Ali's body was dumped.
The body was sent to the local civil hospital for autopsy.
Bongaigaon additional superintendent of police Pranjit Borah said, "The arrested duo and an accomplice, who is absconding, had killed Ali after being instigated by Subala, with whom the victim had an affair."
Subala was arrested on Sunday. Local residents said recently the relation between Ali and Subala had soured. Ali had assaulted her a few days before he went missing.
Section 302 (murder) of the IPC has also been slapped on the accused, Borah added.
Officer in-charge of the police station Bijit Dadhora said that the accused have been kept at Bongaigaon police station and will be produced before the court on Monday. A hunt is on to arrest the fourth accused.
