Assam | Bandh affects life in Guwahati

GUWAHATI | September 10, 2018:

The nationwide strike or Bharat Bandh called by the Congress affected several parts of the city including normal life.

The Congress party had called in the bandh to protest against Narendra Modi government over the spiraling fuel prices in the country.

The city has witnessed very less public transport plying on the streets today morning. Several shops remain closed, including many petrol pumps of the city.

However, many private schools and colleges are operational and no 'bandh' was observed among the banks either.

The bandh has strictly been observed in areas like Zoo Road, Athgaon, Fancy Bazar. Although several shops opened this morning, they were forced to shut down immediately.
