Assam Ambubachi Mela: Devotee drowns in Brahmaputra river

GUWAHATI, June 27, 2018:

With the once in a year mela taking place in Assam where thousand of energetic and staunch devotees from different parts of India converge in the holy gates and courtyards of Maa Kamakhya temple, one such devotee who came for the Ambubachi mela had unfortunately drowned in the river Brahmaputra today morning.

According to Jalukbari Police, SDRF is currently conducting a search operation to find out the devotee. The identity of the devotee is yet to be known.

It is to be mentioned that more than 19 lakh devotees from all over the world have thong in this year Ambubachi Mela to seek the blessing of Maa Kamakhya.
