Assam: 6 lakh liquor bottles destroyed in Guwahati

GUWAHATI | August 10, 2018:
With crackdown of several illegal liquor in the state, Excise Minister, Parimal Suklabaidya, today ordered to smash hundreds of liquor bottles under a road roller in Lokhra area, Assam.

Earlier these bottles were seized by the Excise Department and Bureau of Investigation of Economic Offences (BIEO).
Atleast 13 people have been arrested in this connection and four cases have been lodge by the BIEO on 21/2016, 22/2016, 23/2016, 24/2016.
The estimated amount of the destroyed liquor is said to be of Rs 168,54,31,349.
