Congress volunteers from the state, NGOs and other supporting political parties will stage peaceful dharnas at fuel pumps to protest against the fuel loot resulting in an increase in the price on all essential commodities, including transportation fares, affecting the life of the common people, the APCC stated in a release.

Essential and emergency services, paramilitary and police forces, magistrates on duty, and the press will be exempt from the purview of the proposed bandh, it said.

APCC president Takam Sanjoy appealed to all political parties, along with NGOs, the chamber of commerce, and market welfare associations to join the protest against the "loot, extortion, inhumane and unethical steps taken by the BJP government at the Centre and the state."
