Two villagers injured after clashing with BSF personnel in Tripura

A clash between Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and villagers in Tripura’s Sepahijala District left two people injured on January 9.

According to the locals, a BSF team was conducting a cannabis search operation at Takchapare village under Melaghar police station when the incident happened.

The villagers alleged that the BSF team entered the village during a religious programme and opened fired with no provocation, leaving two people injured.

However, the BSF refuted the claim and said the villagers restricted the troops from searching the hideout by pelting them with stones.

The BSF team also stated that they recovered 20 kilograms of cannabis' (Ganja).
