Tripura: TBSE Class XII results declared, girls outperform boys

Despite the ongoing lockdown, the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE), on Friday, July 31, announced the results for the Class XII examinations in which the girls once again outperformed the boys.

TBSE President, Bhabatosh Saha, announced the results at a press conference in the morning.

"This year's overall pass percentage is 80.80 per cent compared to last year's 80.51 per cent. 27,147 candidates enrolled for the examinations this year of which 26,400 appeared for the exams including 13,460 males and 12,940 females. The toppers in all three streams are girls," Saha said.

Sepahijala district emerged as the district with the highest pass percentage with 84.27 per cent.

The pass percentage in the Commerce stream is 78.56 per cent, 79.52 per cent in the Arts stream and 89.95 per cent in the Science stream.

Results in both SC and ST categories have improved as well with 83.81 per cent of the candidates from the SC category having passed their examinations along 68.53 per cent from the ST category. Over 17 students managed to make it into the top ten list.

Meanwhile, Dhalai district recorded the lowest pass rate with 73.84 per cent.

TBSE also announced the results for Madhyamik (old syllabus) and the results of the Madrasa courses in both Fazil and Alim segments.

In the Madhyamik (old syllabus) segment, 89.76 per cent of the students passed. The Madrasa segment recorded a 72.94 per cent pass percentage.

In Fazil or higher secondary stage, 76.47 per cent of the students passed and 63.64 per cent passed in their Arts papers.

Earlier this year, the Tripura Board could not complete the class XII examinations because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and all pending examinations were later cancelled.
