Tripura: Massive fire breaks out near AIR office in Agartala

AGARTALA:

A massive fire broke out at a settlement office near All India Radio (AIR) at Agartala in Tripura on January 4.

“The fire was about to reach the AIR building, but because of the effort of firefighters, they managed to save the building,” a staff member of All India Radio said.

Ten fire tenders rushed to the spot and, the fight to douse the flame lasted for at least two hours.

Although the fire was brought under control, it was reported that important documents including furniture, computers and other machines were burned in the inferno.

After hearing about the incident, BJP leaders—Tinku Roy and Papiya Datta immediately rushed to the spot last night.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
