Tripura govt cancels class 10 and 12 state board exams

The Tripura Government, on Saturday, cancelled the upcoming class 10 and 12 state board examinations due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation.

Making the announcement, Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath informed that the decision was taken in view of the health and safety of over 73,000 students enrolled for this year's board examinations.

The board exams were scheduled to commence on May 18, however, they were postponed because of the rising number of COVID cases in the state.

The Government has also announced that an expert panel will be set up on June 21 to propose procedures for the evaluation of the students, and the results of the same will be announced on July 31.

Earlier, the CBSE including various other states had cancelled the class 10 and 12 board examinations given the critical COVID situation in the country.
