Tripura Government regularises jobs of over 900 science teachers in state

The erstwhile Left Front government reportedly failed to recruit teachers permanently, further giving rise to various legal complications.

AGARTALA: 

The Tripura Government has regularised jobs of 938 science teachers in the state after a period of nine years, following their appointment.


According to Tripura education minister Ratan Lal Nath's tweet, the government of Tripura under the able leadership of Shri Biplab Kumar Deb has taken a remarkable decision for the regularisation of Science Teachers.



“The council of ministers approved regularization of 938 science graduate teachers. They will receive all arrears from 2017 onwards," Nath stated. 

The erstwhile Left Front government reportedly failed to recruit teachers permanently, further giving rise to various legal complications. 


Altogether, an amount of Rs 49.59 crore will be spent from the state treasury to settle the arrears of the 938 science teachers. 


Nath also maintained that the jobs of the teachers holding D.EL.Ed and B.Ed degrees have been regularised while jobs of another 12 science teachers are yet to be regularised.


The state has also introduced New Promotion Policy, 2021, under which employees will get a one-time promotion on an adhoc basis.
