Tripura: COVID positive infant passes away due to doctor's alleged negligence

According to various media reports, the doctor refused to attend to the infant and referred her to the district COVID Care Centre.

Following the alleged negligence of a doctor at a primary health care centre (PHC), a two-day-old newborn passed away in the Dhalai district of Tripura. 

According to various media reports, the doctor refused to attend to the infant and referred her to the district COVID Care Centre.

The infant girl who had tested positive for COVID-19 at the PHC on Thursday succumbed to her complications on the way.

The parents, Biswakumar Debbarma and Dimple Debbarma, residents of Nakful in the Kamalpur sub-division of the Dhalai district, have allegedly claimed that the doctor's negligence resulted in the unfortunate incident.
