PM Modi to inaugurate newly built international airport in Agartala on Jan 4

The terminal building depicts local art and tourism through its architecture. Bamboo, widely available locally, is being used for construction whereas local craft is included to promote cultural tourism.

AGARTALA:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the newly built Maharaja Bir Bikram International Airport in Agartala on January 4.

"On January 4 Prime Minister will visit Tripura. He will inaugurate the newly build Terminal building of the MBB Airport. Tripura is preparing for his visit,” Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said.

Built at the cost of Rs 438 Crores and equipped with 20 check-in counters, 4 passenger boarding bridges & passenger-friendly facilities, the new Maharaja Bir Bikram International Airport is built on 30 thousand sqm. area and will be able to handle 1000 domestic and 200 international passengers during peak hours, making its annual passenger handling capacity 3 million.
