Ganja worth ₹50 lakh seized in Tripura

AGARTALA:

Security forces in Tripura recovered dry cannabis worth over 50 lakh from Sepahijala District on March 20.

In a joint operation conducted by Tripura police, TSR (Tripura State Rifle) and Assam Rifles, the search team busted 1170 kg dry cannabis in Sepahijala District.

The market value of the seized cannabis is over 50 lakh and was meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh, sources said.

Three persons have been detained, namely Charu Mia, Mantaz Mia and Rasid Mia.

A case has been filed, and investigation is ongoing.
