Counting of votes for TTAADC election begins

According to the latest reports, TIPRA Motha is leading, BJP is leading in two seats, while CPI(M) and IPFT are leading in one seat each.
Counting is taking place across 16 centres in 16 subdivisions across the state.

The counting of votes for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election began here on Saturday morning.


According to the latest reports, TIPRA Motha is leading, BJP is leading in two seats, while CPI(M) and IPFT are leading in one seat each.
Counting is taking place across 16 centres in 16 subdivisions across the state.


According to the State Election Commission, over 80 per cent of people had cast their votes in 25 of the 28 ADC constituencies.


Over 90 per cent of votes were cast in two constituencies, and less than 70 per cent of the votes were cast in a single constituency.


They reported the highest turnout from the Shilachhari-Manubankul constituency in South Tripura, where the turnout was 90.32 per cent.
In South Tripura’s Muhuripur-Bhuratali constituency, the turnout was 90.27 per cent.


They reported the lowest turnout from the Damchhara Jampui constituency in North Tripura, where the turnout was 76.64 per cent.


A total of 8,650,41 voters were part of the polling process this year. However, the number of people who voted on the postal ballot is not counted for now.


A total of 8,56,777 people registered for voting this time, of which 7,34,492 people voted on Tuesday, April 6.


The total vote percentage was 85.74 per cent, the State Election Commission reported.


Earlier, the CPI(M), TIPRA Motha, and Congress alleged that there was rigging, booth capturing and booth jam by the ruling BJP and IPFT.


The CPI(M), TIPRA Motha and IPFT have also demanded re-polls in various polling booths.
