BSF Maitree Cycle Rally reaches Agartala

AGARTALA:

A cycle rally organised by the Border Security Force (BSF) to promote harmony and friendship along the border areas concluded here in Tripura on February 17.

The rally was a part of a joint campaign to inculcate a sense of mutual trust between the BSF troops and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

Termed as ‘Maitree Cycle Rally', it started on January 10, 2021, from 24 North Parganas District of West Bengal and covered all the frontier headquarter areas of North Bengal, Guwahati, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Cachar and concluded at Tripura.

Rajiv Kumar Dua, DIG BSF Panisagar along with eminent civil dignitaries, school children and members of Lions Club welcomed the cyclists at Tripura on the last day.

The BSF troops have been organising various programs for the state officials, school children and border area population in recent times.

The officials from the BSF informed that such programs are aimed at felicitating mutual understanding and coordination along the Indo-Bangladesh border, and also instil a sense of confidence among the border area population.
