GANGTOK:

President of Central Tibet Administration Dr Lopsang Sangay met Sikkim Chief Minister PS Tamang (Golay), on February 22 in Gangtok to discuss the importance of culture.

“I recalled my visit to Dharmasala where I had stated the Government’s plan to send the cultural team to learn Tibetan performing arts. I also emphasised the importance of documenting oral history to preserve tradition and culture and also to educate the younger generation,” said the Sikkim CM.

“My gratitude to the President of the Central Tibet Administration for his visit and I also commend the work done through his tenure concluding in May 2021. I wish him the best of health and success in his future endeavours,” added CM Golay.

Sangay is expected to cover around ten Tibetan settlements spread across the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and West Bengal.
