GANGTOK:

The Government of Sikkim has imposed strict restrictions on inter-state travellers and made it mandatory for tourists to produce the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test results before entering the state.

According to the latest circular, hotels, restaurants, tour operators, tourism service providers, and various accommodation units must ask for the negative RT-PCR test results before providing any service to tourists and travellers.

The Government also advised establishments to monitor such individuals for COVID-19 symptoms.

“All tourist stakeholder associations - presidents, secretaries and office bearers are to strictly advise their member establishments to comply with government directives and discharge the responsibility of containing COVID infections seriously and with utmost sincerity,” the circular read.
