Sikkim: Five-day sports meet kicks off at Sribadam



A five-day sports meet organised by the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha in collaboration with the Sports Department, kicked off at Sribadam on Thursday.

The district-level inter-constituency sports event will feature 12 athletic events, including the under-14 and under-17 boys and girls, and open men and women’s volleyball tournaments.

According to the organisers, the event will also witness the participation of youngsters from remote villages.

We have also formed a selection committee to identify young talents for state and national-level tournaments from the region, said an organiser.

Meanwhile, Rinchenpong CLC president Suk Hang Limboo stated that the event aims to spot raw talent from rural areas and provide them with much-needed exposure.
