Two NSCN cadres arrested in Nagaland, abducted truck driver rescued

DIMAPUR:

Troops of the Assam Rifles and Nagaland police apprehended two cadres of two separate factions of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) in the state.


The operation was carried out jointly by Assam Rifles and Nagaland Police wherein an active cadre of NSCN (Nikki Sumi group) was arrested in the Khehokhu area, Dimapur on June 13. He was allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a truck driver.  


Security forces also managed to rescue the truck driver, who was kidnapped from the 6th-mile Petrol Pump, Dimapur recently. The arrested cadre has been handed over to Chumoukedima Police Station, Dimapur District, for further investigation. 


Meanwhile, another active cadre of NSCN (KN) was arrested with ten boxes of Brown Sugar worth approximately Rs 35,000 from General Area Burma Camp in Dimapur District on June 11.


He was further handed over to East Police Station, Dimapur District along with the recovered items for further investigation.
