KOHIMA:

Newly formed political party from Nagaland, the Rising People’s Party (RPP) has requested the Nagaland Government to give age relaxation to aspiring Nagaland Public Service Commission (NSPC) and Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) aspirants, who could not appear for the examinations due to the COVID imposed restrictions.

The party stated that the request has been made on humanitarian grounds as competitive exams continue to remain suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The party has issued a press statement in this regard, urging the state government to look into the same, considering the fate of the candidates having lost their attempt due to the COVID-imposed restrictions.

The RPP through the press statement stated that the last NPSC exam was conducted in 2019, and the 2020 NPSC Combined Civil Services Examination is yet to be conducted, having already lapsed one year.

The party also maintained that since the examination could not be conducted, it would be fair to not consider the attempts when the candidates have not appeared for the exams and an additional chance considered for the loss.
