Nagaland | Noksen assembly by-poll: Filing of nomination to end on March 30

The last date for filing of nomination for the bye-election to 51 - Noksen Assembly Constituency under Tuensang district, Nagaland is Tuesday, March 30.

The same was earlier announced by the Under Secretary of Election Commission of India (ECI), Sanjeev Kumar Prasad.

According to All India Radio, scrutiny of nominations will be held on Wednesday, while the last date for withdrawal of candidature will be April 3.

The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) had, on Monday, announced H Chuba Chang as its candidate.

Congress, on the other hand, will not be contesting the by-polls.

The polling is scheduled to be held on April 17, while the counting will take place on May 2.

The 51-Noksen seat fell vacant following the demise of sitting Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Justice and Law, C M Chang on October 12, 2020.
