Nagaland Govt issues SOPs for conducting HSLC, HSSLC exams

Nagaland Government has issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for conducting High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations.

An order issued by Chief Secretary J Alam stated that preventive measures are given, for the safety of students, teachers, staff, employees and all others concerned because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the SOPs, all examination centres, including door handles and railings, should be disinfected. Supporting materials for candidates with special needs such as sticks and wheelchairs should be disinfected.

Medical rooms should be kept ready by providing minimum desired drugs and other essential items such as face masks and clean bedsheets.

A doctor should be arranged on-call basis in case of an emergency. Allow cross ventilation of air in the examination rooms, and sitting arrangements will be made, as per the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) guidelines. No canteen facility will be made available to the candidates.

Candidates will enter the examination halls and take their allocated seats by following social distancing norms. All safety measures should be taken while distributing and collecting answer booklets and question papers.

Candidates should refrain from sharing their stationeries and ensure that they do not leave any article in the examination hall. Candidates should carry hand sanitiser and their drinking water.

Used tissues and face masks should be thrown in a closed dustbin immediately.

Parents will not be allowed inside the school campus, and instructions and advisories should be displayed outside the examination centres.
