Nagaland extends lockdown till Jan 15

The government pointed out that in the midst of the festive season, there is a likelihood of an increase in the number of people moving from one place to another, which may be a spreader of the virus.

In view of the festive season and advent of the new Covid-19 variant, Omicron, the Nagaland government on December 14, extended the existing lockdown measures and relaxations till January 15, 2022.

Chief secretary J Alam, through an order, directed all the deputy commissioners and chairmen of District Task Force on Covid-19 to comply with the new SOPs.

The government pointed out that in the midst of the festive season, there is a likelihood of an increase in the number of people moving from one place to another, which may be a spreader of the virus.

In this context, the government said everyone should continue to strictly adhere to appropriate Covibd-19 behaviour such as compulsory wearing of mask, practice social distancing, hand hygiene, etc,.

In addition to Covid appropriate behaviour, the government has also advised the eligible beneficiaries, who have not taken the vaccine, to get themselves vaccinated by visiting the nearest clinic or availing the door-to-door vaccination drive facility.

Meanwhile, the state reported one more Covid-related death and three new cases in the last 24 hours on December 14.
