Nagaland extends its "Unlock 5" phase till September 16

The latest phase of lockdown "Unlock 5" in the northeastern state of Nagaland will be extended by two weeks, the state government said on Thursday.

In an order issued by Abhijit Sinha, the Principal Secretary (Home) stated that all relaxations which are in force will remain in effect till September 16.

Nagaland had started unlocking in a phase-wise manner from July 1 and the 15-day-long fifth phase was supposed to end on September 2.

The high powered committee on COVID-19 headed by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on August 16, had decided that the Unlock-5 phase will take place from August 19 to September 2.
