Nagaland CM flags off 24 NHIDCL ambulances in Kohima 

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio expressed his gratitude to the NHIDCL for their generous gesture towards the state at a time when people are going through a crucial phase.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Tuesday flagged off 24 ambulances donated by National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which are of higher end, with basic life support equipments at the Civil Secretariat Plaza, Kohima.

The NHIDCL has donated 24 ambulances to the Nagaland Government in a bit to boost the health services in the state.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio expressed his gratitude to the NHIDCL for their generous gesture towards the state at a time when people are going through a crucial phase.

Rio said that the generous gesture will go a long way in improving the health infrastructure in the health sector. 

He also said that the ambulances will serve its purpose in delivering good services to the people in every district. 

Rio also encouraged the health department to make use of the old ambulances in the need based health centers specially in the remote areas.

The ambulances will be distributed in all the 12 districts and 8 ambulance will be distributed in different community health centres, Rio added.

Rio further expressed gratitude to the doctors, nurses and other supporting staff for their efforts in the fight for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of NHIDCL, M. S Deol said the NHIDCL have conceived the vision to make the state of Nagaland to be amongst the best connected state of the country in a short time frame with continued proactive support from the state.

He also highlighted the various initiatives taken by the NHIDCL towards social upliftment by means of social development programmes, distribution of free flavoured milk and installation of borewell for drinking water in various parts of the state.
