Nagaland begins intensified COVID vaccination drive

Citizens can reach out to their village or Panchayat chairman or Medical officer in charge or ANM, ASHA, Anganwadi as to when the session will be conducted in their village or colony.

Nagaland began the intensified COVID vaccination drive on Tuesday, June 8, which will continue till June 18, the state health department informed.

Principal Director of the Health Department Dr. Neikhrielie Khimiao, informed that citizens from the age of 18 to 44-45 years and above can avail themselves the opportunity to get vaccinated with Covishield vaccine.

Khimiao informed that all health facilities and outreach session sites in urban colonies and villages will be covered from Mondays to Fridays. 

Citizens can reach out to their village or Panchayat chairman or Medical officer in charge or ANM, ASHA, Anganwadi as to when the session will be conducted in their village or colony. 

"Other than the COVID Vaccination Centres shared by the district officials for online registration and booking, all other sessions will be on-site registration and vaccination," Khimiao said. 

"Special priority will be given to persons with disabilities for vaccination and therefore requested them to contact Health Workers in their respective areas," he added.

The total number of active cases in the state stands at 4703 with 429 deaths, as reported in the last 24 hours.
