Nagaland Baptist Church Council reaffirms stand on Liquor Total Prohibition Act

Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) has reaffirmed its stand on the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act 1989.

The Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act is an act to prohibit possession, sale, consumption and manufacture of liquor, import and export thereof in the State.

NBCC impressed upon the state government to seriously, and practically implement the Act.

NBCC also stated that the resolution was adopted during its 22nd Triennial Convention held recently.

The NBCC consequently resolved to "sincerely" carry out the ministry towards the alcoholics and related problems.

The Council also resolved to strengthen and intensify the 'Clean Election Campaign' to fight against any form of corruption.

The NBCC further affirmed that the members of the church would not entertain any policies that are implemented at the cost of compromising Christian faith by organising official events, which coincide with Sunday worship.
