Ruopfuzhano is all set to represent her state at the fbb Colors Femina Miss India 2018 pageant. An empathetic person with a love for animals and an aim to end gender disparity, here is Ruopfuzhano Whiso in an exclusive interview with TNT- The Northeast Today:
TNT: Tell us about your childhood days?
Ruopfuzhano Whiso: As the youngest child with an age gap of 9 years between me and my siblings, I found myself alone most of the time, that's when i discovered books. My life as a book lover began very early. I found myself in a journey of experiences that books gave me and it literally became a big part of my childhood.
TNT: As a kid, did you ever think that you would become a model someday?
Ruopfuzhano Whiso: When I was a kid, I used to tell my mom that I would become like Aishwarya Rai someday when I grow up. I look up to her as a beauty queen an actress and as a woman. But over the years when I grew up, I began to lose sight of that dream, embarking on a path that i was comfortable in. It was only last October when I surprisingly got the chance to live the life I could only dream of.
TNT: How did the idea of modelling come into your mind?
Ruopfuzhano Whiso: Right after my win at Miss Nagaland 2017, I was offered to the walk for the Renowned Naga Designer Khrielasier Liezietsu where I got my first chance to model.
TNT: When you were crowned as Miss. India Nagaland 2018, how was the feeling?
Ruopfuzhano Whiso: When I was crowned as Miss. India Nagaland 2018, all i felt was relieve and happiness that I had not disappointed the people back at home who had been supporting and praying for me. I was delighted to represent my state Nagaland and to be able to continue my journey as a beauty queen.
TNT: Tell us about education, your educational pursuits so far?
Ruopfuzhano Whiso: According to me, education is something that's really important in our lives and not something we can skip or choose to ignore in favour of something that looks better.
I have just appeared my 12 board exam recently in the month of March and I'm planning to pursue my Bachelor of Arts.
TNT: How supportive was your family with your decision of taking up modelling as a career?
Ruopfuzhano Whiso: My family naturally supports my decision in whatever i have decided about my career, they've always honoured it. They would however prefer for me to complete my education before I decide to take it up as a full time career.
TNT: What do you think about fashion scene in North-east India?
Ruopfuzhano Whiso: I believe that the fashion sense in North-east India is thriving. The people are not afraid to try out new fashion, ideas and also the traditional modern outfit fusion which I find it to be a fashion statement to be remembered which becomes a unique element of North-east India.
TNT: What message do you want to convey through modelling?
Ruopfuzhano Whiso: As a beauty queen I get to have more opportunities than most people. Through this opportunities I'd like to convey that "Every life has a purpose, every talent or gift that we have been blessed with is a gift from God and we should use it to paint the world around us with beautiful colours".
