200 kgs of ganja seized in Nagaland, one arrested

Nagaland Police on March 15 arrested one person for smuggling 200 kilograms of ganja (cannabis).

“Personnel of Kohima South Police Station on routine surveillance duty at Paramedical Junction intercepted a Mahindra Scorpio bearing Assam registration and upon checking of the vehicle recovered 20 packets of ganja wrapped in a polythene sheet,” a release issued by PRO District Executive Force Kohima said.

They accordingly seized the contraband with the vehicle while the driver of the vehicle identified as Silastin of Tadubi under Senapati district, Manipur was also arrested.

A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act for further investigation.
