Social Media erupts on Vivek Agnihotri’s anti-Christian jibe at Northeast India

October 25, 2017: A renowned sympathizer of a national political party Vivek Agnihotri has made a controversial tweet that has erupted a lot of comments from Northeasterners.  It may be mentioned that he has been known to making provocative tweets. His tweets in the past have been directed at the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi and he has been a well known BJP sympathizer. But his recent tweet on Northeast India and Christianity has not gone down too well with various people in Northeast which is clearly visible from the replies to his tweet.

Before it was divided into seven states, Shillong was the capital of the entire North East. With colonialism, Christianity, as a new religion, became dominant and took over the tribal cultures, with it vanished their unique worldview, their music, songs, language and folklore.
