Mizoram to receive 18,500 Covishield vaccines in first phase

State Health secretary H. Lalengmawia on January 12 said that Mizoram would receive 18,500 of Covishield vaccines manufactured by Serum Institute of India in the first phase of the vaccination drive.

Giving priority to the health care workers, Lalengmawia said 14,107 state healthcare workers and 314 central healthcare workers have been identified to be vaccinated in the first phase.

The government has set up four vaccination centres including Aizawl Civil Hospital, Lunglei Civil Hospital, Kulikawn Sub-District Hospital and Urban Public Health Centre at ITI Veng in Aizawl.

The state government is in full swing for the first phase of the vaccination drive, which will be conducted on Saturday, Lalengmawia said.
