Mizoram: MZP to organise candlelight vigil to pay tribute to protesters of Myanmar

The Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) would organise a candlelight vigil to pay solemn tributes to protesters of Myanmar who laid down their lives to restore democracy in Mizoram on Tuesday.

The vigil will be held at Vanapa Hall in Aizawl from 7 pm onwards.

The organization denounced the ongoing violence against peaceful protesters and the continuing violation of the fundamental human rights of the people of Myanmar.

Last month, the Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) staged a sit-in demonstration near Vanapa Hall in Aizawl, protesting against the recent military coup in Myanmar.

“We share the sufferings and joy of our Mizo brothers and sisters in Myanmar. We will always stand for them,” Mizo Zirlai Pawl vice president Peter Chhangte said.

The organisation would also organise a Mobile concert at various places to raise funds for Myanmarese refugees on Saturday.
