Mizoram Governor briefed on progress of road construction in the state

As per the presentation, the NHIDCL is currently looking after the improvement and construction of 784 Km of National Highways in Mizoram.

Executive Director of the National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL), Virendra Kumar Jakhar, on December 21, briefed  Mizoram governor Hari Babu Kambhampati about the ongoing road construction projects in the state.

Jakhar gave detailed presentation at Raj Bhavanon the progress of works and approved proposals on the road construction projects-Aizawl-Tuipang Road, Aizawl-Champhai Road, Sarang-Vairengte 4-lane road, and Aizawl By-pass Road.

He also pointed out a few hurdles that needed to be resolved sooner for the overall progress of the projects which he felt is extremely vital for growth and development in Mizoram. In this connection Babu had assured the NHIDCL officials that the state government would look into the matter and will try to resolve the issues as early as possible.

As per the presentation, the NHIDCL is currently looking after the improvement and construction of 784 Km of National Highways in Mizoram.

The 39 Km Aizawl Bypass road is also being proposed but not yet declared a National Highway. The roads with a length of 397 km of Aizawl to Tupang Road, 69 km of Seling to Dulte Road, and 68 km of Dulte to Champhai Road are under construction.

The roads with a length of 84 km Keifang – Tuivai Road and 91 Km Sairang – Vairengte are also being processed for commencement of work.
