KAMALANAGAR:

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Chakma District, in Mizoram suffered a staggering blow as one of its prominent leaders Dangu Hemanta Larma joined the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) on Monday.

Larma was accorded a rousing welcome in the presence of Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma, CEM, CADC, councillors among others in a short induction programme held at the party’s office.

“Today is a life-changing day in my political sphere. The position of Chakma District BJP in the present context is akin to an army of lions being led by a sheep. When a party or an organisation is led by weak leadership, then there is no scope of progress, more so when the leader is a habitual liar who deceives his party men and the public,” Larna said while addressing reporters.

Larma, who had contested the Chakma Autonomous District Council(CADC) General election in 2018, stated that he joined the Mizo National Front(MNF) after seeing the present Executive Committee in action in all spheres of development.

Larma had held various positions in the BJP from the district to the national level, including the post of Convenor, BJP for North-East, Delhi; State Vice-President, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Mizoram, and District Head, Central Scheme Cell, Chakma District Bharatiya Janata Party.
