Assam Rifles recovers war like stores in Mizoram

The ‘warlike stores’ and the apprehended individuals have been handed over to Dungtalang Police Station for further investigation.

Assam Rifles (Serchhip Battalion) recovered a huge cache of war like stores and arrested two persons in Mizoram on June 21.

The operation was carried out based on human intelligence (HUMINT), according to an official release by Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East).

The recovered arms included 6 cartons of special detonator, 925 electric detonators, safety fuses and Class II CAT -ZZ explosive powder, the release said.

The ‘warlike stores’ and the apprehended individuals have been handed over to Dungtalang Police Station for further investigation.

Ongoing smuggling of illegal goods is a major cause of concern for the state of Mizoram. The Assam Rifles christened as ‘Sentinels of Northeast’ have been launching operations against smuggling activities, the release further stated.
