Union Minister S.P. Singh meets beneficiaries of central schemes in field visit to Shillong

Union Minister of State for Law & Justice S.P. Singh Baghel on Thursday interacted with the beneficiaries/ recipients of various central schemes, including the COVID-19 vaccination centres and health insurance.

Accompanied by the officers of the line departments and agencies implementing the central schemes, Baghel also obtained and assessed the overall feedback from the said beneficiaries and the implementing officials.

Singh visited the Health Dispensary at Rynjah, Shillong in order to ascertain facts about the COVID-19 vaccination centres and the beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

The Minister also visited the residences of the beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Scheme at Nongmensong; the Umpling Waste Recovery Center constructed by the Shillong Municipal Board under the Swachh Bharat Mission; beneficiaries of the Megha Health Insurance Scheme at R & R Colony, Rynjah; and beneficiaries of the Swachh Bharat Mission at Umpling, Shillong.

The Minister also interacted with the students of Martin Luther Christian University and Indian Institute of Public Service, many of whom intern for the Swachh Bharat Mission at the Waste Processing Centre.
