SHILLONG:

Health Minister James Sangma said that the Sohryngkham Health Sub-Center will be soon upgraded to a public health centre (PHC).

The assurance came after the minister conducted an inspection of the facility along with the Member of District Council of Sohryngkham and National People’s Party (NPP) member, Pyniaid Sing Syiem on Friday.

Syiem informed that the village heads have handed over the documents for the land where the PHC will be set up. He also assured the public to follow up on the matter.

Sangma said that being one of the largest villages in Asia, it is only fair for Sohryngkham to get a PHC. He observed that it is necessary for villagers of remote villages around the area to have access to basic health care facilities.
