Shillong College organises workshop on UGC Regulation, 2018

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Shillong College, on Thursday, organised a one-day workshop on the provisions of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulation, 2018. 

The workshop was held at the Conference Hall of the college in Shillong, Meghalaya. 

Principal Dr E.Kharkongor said that the workshop aims to help teachers and the IQAC Cell of the college understand the application of UGC Regulation for recruitment of new teachers and career advancement of the existing teachers. 

Principal Consultant of Meghalaya's Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Rangksan Mawroh, emphasised the need of having interdisciplinary teachers’ training programs and to develop IT competencies among the teachers to impart quality education to the students.  

Deputy Director of the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education (DHTE), Dr BD Cajee, gave a detailed presentation on the criteria required to be fulfilled for recruitment and the Career Advancement Scheme for the teachers under the UGC pay scale.
