Shillong based group mS2 conducts voluntary activity for frontline workers

SHILLONG:

As part of their voluntary activity, the makeSomeoneSMILE ((mS2) team of Shillong organised an event on May 8 and distributed snacks to the security personnel on duty during the lockdown. 

The team went around the city distributing tea and breakfast to the officials of Shillong Traffic Police, the SR10 guards and the MLP, who have been tirelessly working in the frontline during the government-imposed restrictions.

Anky, the founder of makeSomeoneSMILE said, "Two days ago the team observed that the cops, being at top of their duty were finding themselves starving with the strict lockdown in the city & this is where the idea to serve them came into being."

Overall more than 100 personnel happily accepted the gesture saying “it's so thoughtful of you that even in rain, you all stepped forward for this."

The team had earlier found a local street vendor and made the agreement with him for this event, thereby helping him to have some earning during the event, as well as serving the overall purpose and need.

It may be mentioned that Anky and the team have been personally offering the best of support to many families and parents of members who aren't in town. 

The team is supporting many families whose members have been infected with COVID-19 and those who are quarantined during the hard times.

Anky informed that the activity was conducted with strict adherence to covid guidelines and norms. 

makeSomeoneSMILE is a team of like-minded individuals who plan, contribute, organise, collect funds and invest towards environmental benefits and preservation including communities in need, appeals to people to care for themselves and Do their LITTLE to help the NEEDY.
