Meghalaya: BJP MLA Sanbor Shullai sworn-in as minister in Conrad Sangma-led cabinet

SHILLONG: 

BJP MLA and South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai was on Tuesday sworn in as a minister in the Conrad Sangma-led cabinet at Raj Bhavan, Shillong. 

The oath of office and secrecy was administered by Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik in the presence of Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and a few of the cabinet ministers and chief secretary, MS Rao. 

Former Health Minister and BJP leader AL Hek was dropped from the cabinet, giving way for party MLA Sanbor Shullai to be inducted into the cabinet. 

"Basically we have been maintaining in the MDA that different political parties have different number of ministers based on the number of MLAs they have... And based on the letter of the BJP state president Ernest Mawrie, this has been done," CM Conrad Sangma had earlier stated. 

However, no annoucement on the portfolio to be given to Shullai has been announced till the filing of this report.
