Meghalaya: Ri Bhoi district imposes additional restrictions on permitted activities

The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, has revised restrictions on permitted activities in Ri Bhoi District such as entry of tourists from outside the state which shall not permitted from April 23 to May 7.

The maximum number of persons allowed in places of worship or during religious/social/private gatherings is decreased to 50 per cent of the seating capacity. 

Spectators for outdoor sports, cinema halls, hotels and restaurants etc are also permitted to operate at 50 per cent whereas people are advised to avail home delivery food and takeaway service.

Shops and markets are allowed to open and close by 9pm and non-compliance to SOPs including maintenance of social (physical) distancing, mask-wearing and hand hygiene will cause closure of the establishment.

Street vendors and hawkers will comply attentively to Covid-19 safety protocols and all restaurants/cafes/ food outlets along the National Highway should erect barricades and safety barriers in front of their shops to maintain physical distancing.

Any urgent and unavoidable program may be considered only upon application to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District.
